Why subscribe?
When someone says that’s just AI, they are making a claim about provenance: whether words still carry the weight of a life, a judgment, a process, a struggle, or a world actually touched.
PingBack is a publication about what happens to writing, learning, credibility, and institutional life when language becomes cheap to produce and harder to place.
I write from the position of a student, observer, and builder moving through one of the first spaces where these pressures become impossible to ignore: education. Many essays begin there, but the questions extend into work, media, technology, and the institutions that shape how people learn, decide, and make meaning. I write from a global frame, shaped by my time living and studying across Nigeria, South Africa, Morocco, and the United States.
Most of what appears here is written by me, Joel Adejola. Some of the thinking has been sharpened through years of ongoing conversation with my friend Daniel Eta, who is an interlocutor in the background of this project. When a piece meaningfully emerged from conversation, reporting, or AI-augmented synthesis, I will say so. Each major post carries a provenance note describing how it came about.
